Ballantyne Country Club

Ballantyne Country Club was founded in 1996 in south Charlotte around a Rees Jones course, and it is a clear example of the modern suburban club: built as the centrepiece of a residential development rather than inherited from an earlier era. Rees Jones is best known for preparing existing championship courses for major events, so an original Jones design is a less common thing to find than the name suggests. The club runs eighteen holes and holds a fitness centre, practice facilities, swimming, tennis and pickleball — a genuinely full family set. Charlotte is a competitive private club market and our records place four other private clubs in the city, which gives prospective members a real basis for comparison. Ballantyne publishes no initiation fee or dues figure, so those remain unknown here.
