Where our data comes from
Every fact on a club page carries a source and a date. This is the full list of what we read and what we are willing to take from each.
The confidence labels
- Confirmed by clubTaken from the club's own current documentation or confirmed directly by the club.
- Reported by members or third-party sourcesReported by a credible recent third-party source or member report. Not confirmed by the club.
- Estimated rangeA transparent range derived from multiple signals. Treat as an indication, not a quote.
- Not publicly availableThe club does not publish this, and we have not independently verified it.
Most private clubs do not publish their fees. On those pages you will see Not publicly available rather than an estimate. That is the honest answer, and it is more useful than a number we made up.
Clubs themselves
A club's own website and published documents. This is the strongest evidence we can hold, and where almost everything on this site comes from.

Publications and reference works
Named publications, used for awards, architecture credits and history. We record that a publication recognised a club; we never convert their ranking into ours.
Directories and open data
Golf directories and open geographic data. Fee and access claims from here are always labelled as reported, never confirmed.

How often we re-check
A fact past its window is flagged internally and queued for refresh. Pricing gets the shortest leash because it is what people act on.

When sources disagree
Newer first-party evidence normally wins over an older third-party report. But where two credible sources conflict and neither clearly supersedes the other, we publish the disagreement — both figures with their sources — rather than quietly picking one.
You will see that on club pages as Sources disagree. It is not a gap in our work; it is the most accurate thing we can tell you.
What we will not do
- Copy another site’s reviews, descriptions or rankings.
- Scrape a platform’s web pages in place of its licensed API.
- Publish a fee we cannot source.
- Turn anonymous community claims into facts here.
